Located 80 miles south of St. Louis, Cuba is just one of several communities in Crawford County. As a small town, Cuba leaves a huge impression. This holiday the streets are lined with lights, the city buildings are dressed up, and the town welcomes this wonderful time of year. Don’t be surprised to hear local passerby’s say hello and wish you and yours a fine holiday season. It’s that kind of place.
The lighted path grows longer each year. New this year, the Cuba Visitor Center allows travelers on I-44 to get a glimpse of our lighted splendor. In addition, Viva Cuba Garden, City Hall, the Cuba Senior Center, the Recklein Auditorium, the Crawford County Historical Society Museum, and the Recklein Memorial Library are all part of the picturesque Christmas landscape. To top it all off, there will be the traditional holiday tree at Recklein Commons which is a great spot for holiday family photos!
The Cuba Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors an annual Christmas Parade on the first Saturday in December to kick off the holiday season. The parade starts at the Wagon Wheel Motel and ends at the Recklein Commons on N Smith St. The parade starts at 5:00 pm and of course, Santa will be there. Learn more.
The City of Cuba is lucky to have citizens who care about the community. These same folks want to share the warmth of the season with everyone who happens to find themselves in Cuba during the holidays. Local businesses welcome travelers and “light lookers” to visit during the holiday season for specialty foods, drinks, and gifts.
